On Saturday, Dec 8th, the Gender and Sexuality Cohort of Bridge Builders CHANGE (also known as GAS) hosted a conference to determine criteria for Brave, Safe & Educated spaces for LGBTQ+ youth in Memphis. GAS has been working working hard to make our community safe and welcoming for LGTBQ+ youth. This semester was spent researching and gathering information from community members to develop criteria for BSE spaces in three key places; schools, businesses, and healthcare facilities.

Starting next year, they will be calling for nominations of spaces that either should become, or are already, BSE (brave, safe, 7 educated). Stay tuned for updates about which organizations make the list!
